All the prosound stuff I saw at both the distributor, Rhythm City [MI retailer] and CMC Stereo [only A7s] were strapped to a pallet with just some cardboard corner protectors and components in boxes, while consumer finished speakers were nicely packed in boxes, then strapped to a pallet.
By '79 though, the last A7s ordered for a Ga. Tech frat house arrived with no corner protectors, so combined with all the strap indentations and really sloppy paint job they looked pretty shabby, though of course by the time the frat boys were done with them they were ready for a custom car show.
